Charlie is already 1 month old!! He's such a big boy already :) We went into the pediatrician on Friday and he is officially 9 lbs! He gained 22 oz in the past 14 days. He packed on the weight when he was cluster feeding every hour for 5 days, I was very happy when he quit that pattern. :) He's getting a little belly already! Yesterday I had to pack up most of his newborn outfits since he is so long the legs are too short in most of the outfits. It's sad to think that he is already getting bigger but it's exciting to see what's to come in the next several months/years.
This weekend we decided that we were ready to start making the transition of moving Charlie to his crib in the nursery. Originally we thought we would start Friday night but I couldn't actually do it until Sunday night. It's just so far! :) He did ok the first night but woke up around 2 am and wouldn't go back to sleep so we brought him back to the bassinet. Monday night he slept in the crib the whole night, I didn't cheat and bring him back to the bassinet after feedings. So far it seems to be going ok, he doesn't seem to mind it too much. We do put him down after he is asleep so I don't think he really knows the difference. We will have to eventually try putting him to bed awake so that he doesn't get used to always being rocked to sleep, but I'm not ready to do that yet. I love the snuggle time :)
His schedule:
6:00 am- wake up with Daddy's alarm and sleep off and on until 8:30 am. Then wake up and eat. He's really alert and happy for the next 2 hours. 11:00 am- naptime. He'll then eat every 3 hours and take several naps during the day. He will typically eat around 9 or 10pm and then go to bed. He still wakes up every 2.5- 3 hrs (sometimes he'll surprise me and sleep for 4 hours at a time!!) during the night.
Charlie is so much fun! He is already changed so much from when we first brought him home from the hospital. He's awake and alert more often and when he's awake he loves to look at our faces and track objects. He loves tummy time and has a very strong head and neck. He will throw his head back and turn to where our voice is coming from. He is such a joy! I am absolutely cherishing my time home with him. I have another 8 weeks left of maternity leave and am going to make the most of my time with him.
